US Country Star Ella Langley Cancels Tulsa Concert Over ‘Security Threat’

American country music performer Ella Langley was forced to cancel a sold-out performance in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Friday evening due to a serious security concern. The 27-year-old artist announced the decision approximately two hours before the concert was scheduled to begin at the 19,000-seat BOK Center.

In an Instagram post, Langley described the choice as “incredibly difficult,” emphasizing that the safety of her audience, crew, and venue personnel was paramount. She later apologized to ticket holders, noting that details regarding refunds would be provided shortly.

Tulsa Police Department Captain Richard Meulenberg revealed that authorities received a call containing specific threats of “great harm,” including reports of shots being fired and the placement of bombs. Although pre-show sweeps conducted by officers utilizing sniffer dogs found no actual explosives or weapons, police determined the situation warranted cancellation to ensure public safety.

“We could not find a credible threat,” Captain Meulenberg stated, but he stressed that the individual behind the call had caused significant disruption for thousands of attendees. The BOK Center released a statement affirming that the well-being of everyone involved was their top priority and apologizing to fans for the disappointment.

The cancellation comes amid a highly successful period for Langley, whose September hit “Choosin’ Texas” dethroned Mariah Carey’s holiday classic to become the longest-running number one single in US chart history. Her momentum carried into May, where she dominated the Academy of Country Music Awards.
