Harvey Nichols Birmingham Store to Shut in January Amid Frasers Group Overhaul

Harvey Nichols’ Birmingham store is set to close in January, resulting in the loss of at least 60 positions. The decision comes as part of a broader restructuring by Mike Ashley’s Frasers Group, which also involves converting the retailer’s locations in Leeds and Bristol into Flannels outlets.

Frasers Group acquired the Knightsbridge-headquartered department store chain for £43 million on the same day it entered administration in mid-August.

  1. I wonder if the Knightsbridge store will follow suit? This restructuring feels like it’s still not over.

  2. Interesting move by Ashley, but converting two sites to Flannels seems like a risky bet on luxury fashion right now.

  3. 60 jobs lost is heartbreaking. Frasers Group needs to do better by their staff during this overhaul.

  4. Another high street casualty. Does anyone think Flannels will actually bring value to these locations?

  5. Sad to see Harvey Nichols leave Birmingham. The Leeds and Bristol sites were always my favorite spots.
