Voting has commenced in the Holborn and St Pancras by-election, as candidates from various political parties compete for the vacant parliamentary seat in north London.
Approximately 30 polling stations, located in community centres and churches, opened their doors at 07:00 BST on Thursday and will remain open until 22:00. The counting of ballots is scheduled to begin immediately following the closure of the polls.
The election was triggered after former prime minister Sir Keir Starmer confirmed his intention to step down from his role as MP to pursue a position focused on international affairs.
A total of 15 candidates are contesting the seat, including one independent contender. Under current regulations, voters are required to present valid photographic identification, such as a driving licence or passport, before casting their ballots.
