Political figures and anti-hatred campaigners have issued a warning that the group of masked, black-clad vigilantes responsible for recent road blockades in Dover could return if law enforcement does not intensify its response.
The demonstration was claimed by the Patriot Platform, an anti-immigration organization with ties to the far right that describes itself as driven by a “fierce love for our homeland.” Hope Not Hate founder Nathan Lean attributed the group’s ability to mobilize at scale to what he characterized as police inaction.
Blocking roads is never the answer, regardless of political views. Authorities must act swiftly to prevent escalation.
The police inaction is truly alarming. How can we expect rule of law when vigilantes face zero consequences?
