The United States men’s national soccer team is set to welcome Canada to Allianz Field in Saint Paul for an international friendly. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 pm ET.
The match follows a strong performance from the Americans, who recently secured a convincing 3-0 win against Mexico. The nature of friendly matches often allows for optimism regardless of the result; a victory is viewed as evidence of upward momentum, while a loss can be dismissed as part of the experimental process.
Given the recent romp against Mexico, pundits and fans alike are finding it difficult to temper their positive outlook heading into this contest against their northern rivals.
Is anyone else worried about rotation? They need to test depth before the next qualifiers.
8pm ET is perfect for a late game with drinks. Minnesota soccer fans better show up!
Friendlies always feel risky against rivals like Canada. One mistake and the optimism vanishes fast.
Ally is such a cool venue. Would love to catch this live in Saint Paul this summer.
Can’t wait to see if this form holds against Canada. That Mexico win looked genuine!
