New leaks from Android Headlines have exposed what appears to be Google’s upcoming Fitbit Edge, a mid-range fitness tracker designed to bridge the gap between the Fitbit Air and the Pixel Watch 5. The device is expected to serve as a successor to the Fitbit Charge, which was last released in 2023.
Unlike previous band-style trackers, the leaked images show the Fitbit Edge featuring a dedicated display. Technical specifications reportedly include a seven-day battery life, built-in GPS, an altimeter, and support for limited third-party applications such as Google Maps and YouTube Music.
A key differentiator for the Edge is its cross-platform compatibility; while the Pixel Watch 5 is restricted to Android devices, the Fitbit Edge will reportedly function with both iOS and Android phones. The hardware is also expected to arrive in color finishes similar to those found on the Pixel 11 smartphones, including shades like Rose Peach and Olive.
The tracker is projected to launch in time for the 2026 holiday shopping season. Although no official pricing has been announced, analysts estimate it could retail between $150 and $200. This price point would position it above the $100 Fitbit Air and significantly below the $400 Pixel Watch 5, maintaining the affordability of its predecessor which ranged from $129 to $179.
Cross-platform at last! Though I’m skeptical about three years of software support at this price point. Let’s see what they deliver.
Finally, a Fitbit with an actual screen that works with iOS. Apple Watch is way too expensive for casual users like me.
