US President Donald Trump announced the formation of a new White House task force dedicated to coordinating the administration’s approach to artificial intelligence. The initiative, designed to manage the rapid evolution of the technology, will be led by Jay Clayton, the newly confirmed director of national intelligence.
Clayton will be supported by a leadership team that includes Andrew Ferguson, chairman of the Federal Trade Commission; Emil Michael, the Pentagon’s chief technology officer; and Scott Kupor, director of the Office of Personnel Management.
In a post on Sunday, Trump revealed that the group would operate under the name “Super Intelligence Force,” or SI. The president has previously advocated for this terminology as an alternative to “AI.” The task force aims to synchronize federal government interactions with a broad range of stakeholders, including consumers, public interest groups, religious organizations, critical infrastructure providers, and major technology companies.
“The Super Intelligence Force will coordinate the federal government’s engagement with consumers, public interest groups, religious organizations, critical infrastructure providers, and super intelligence companies,” Trump stated via Truth Social.
