Tesla Reports Production Hiccup as Q3 Deliveries Decline Year-over-Year

Tesla encountered a setback in its recovery efforts after reporting third-quarter vehicle deliveries lower than those recorded a year ago. The previous year saw a surge in consumer purchases driven by expiring federal tax credits for electric vehicles.

In its latest delivery and production report released Tuesday, the company stated it manufactured a total of 464,391 vehicles between July and September. This figure includes 457,387 Model 3 and Model Y units, along with 7,004 other vehicles, which encompass the Cybertruck, Cybercab, and Tesla Semi. The company had discontinued the Model S and Model X earlier this year.

The output marks approximately a 3.8 percent increase compared to prior periods, though the decline in sales volume relative to the year-ago period highlights a temporary obstruction on the company’s path toward market stabilization.
