Formula 1 organizers have relocated the upcoming Bahrain Grand Prix to the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, citing severe heat conditions that pose a risk to competitors and officials. The decision follows concerns over unsafe temperatures at the original Middle Eastern venue.
The race weekend, which was scheduled to take place in Bahrain, will now proceed in Malaysia this Friday, with practice sessions and qualifying events set to go ahead as planned under cooler conditions.
Heat hazards have become a growing concern in recent F1 seasons, prompting teams and drivers to call for improved cooling measures and potential schedule adjustments for races held in extremely hot climates.
Sky Sports confirmed the change, noting that live coverage and updates for the rescheduled event will be available through their F1 broadcast platforms.
