ElevenLabs Doubles Valuation to $22B in Latest Employee Tender

ElevenLabs, a leading voice AI startup, announced on Tuesday that it is offering employees the opportunity to cash out vested equity at a $22 billion valuation. This figure represents a significant 100% increase from the $11 billion valuation established during a $500 million fundraising round led by Sequoia in February of this year.

The $300 million secondary transaction was co-led by major institutional investors Wellington and T. Rowe Price. These firms typically acquire private shares with the intention of holding them through to an initial public offering, rather than seeking immediate resale.

This move highlights an emerging strategy among high-growth artificial intelligence companies, which are increasingly utilizing employee liquidity events as retention tools to prevent staff from defecting to competing firms. The recent tender is only the second time the four-year-old company has authorized such a transaction for its workforce; previously, ElevenLabs facilitated a $100 million tender at a $6.6 billion valuation in September 2025.

Founded in 2022 and headquartered in New York and London, ElevenLabs is renowned for its ability to generate highly realistic synthetic human voices and sound effects. With its latest valuation, the company solidifies its position among Europe’s most valuable private startups.

  1. I wonder if these cash-outs actually keep people happy, or if they just encourage early departures? Seems counterintuitive.
