Meta Unveils Muse for Small Business in Push Beyond Consumer AI

Following the successful debut of its consumer AI agent, Meta has introduced Muse for Small Business, signaling a strategic move to expand its artificial intelligence offerings into the enterprise sector. Announced on Tuesday, the new service integrates the Muse agent with widely used workplace platforms, including Asana, Zoom, Intuit, Box, Canva, and Salesforce’s Slack.

The platform also allows users to connect Meta advertising accounts alongside professional Instagram and Facebook profiles. While the company did not disclose specific pricing for the new business tool, it directed users to the existing free Muse app, which operates on a usage-limit model with paid subscription options for heavier use.

This launch complements Meta’s recent announcement regarding a dedicated enterprise platform, which will feature a business-specific Muse agent and coding utilities. The move coincides with the recruitment of MongoDB CEO CJ Desai to lead the new division.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has prioritized diversifying revenue streams beyond the company’s traditional reliance on digital advertising. After investing billions in top AI talent, including Scale AI founder Alexandr Wang, who now oversees Meta’s AI efforts, Zuckerberg described Muse as the central component of his AI strategy during last week’s Meta Connect event in Menlo Park, California.

The announcement comes during a strong period for the company on Wall Street. Meta’s stock has risen 25% in September, following the Sept. 8 public rollout of Muse, which quickly climbed to the top of Apple’s App Store, surpassing competitors like ChatGPT. Market analysts at Evercore project that Muse could reach 100 million users within six to twelve months.

In its blog post, Meta stated that the tool is designed to execute specific objectives, noting, “Give Muse a goal — like running your business or finding new customers — and it gets it done.”

  1. I’m skeptical about the pricing model. If they limit the free tier too much, small businesses will bounce back quickly.
