Case Keenum leads Bears to dominant win over Eagles

The Chicago Bears handed the Philadelphia Eagles their first loss of the season with a commanding 27-7 victory at Soldier Field, powered by a standout performance from veteran quarterback Case Keenum.

Keenum, 38, made his first NFL start since December 2023 after Caleb Williams suffered a knee injury and Tyson Bagent was ruled out with a concussion. He completed his任务 with 247 passing yards and two touchdown throws, while also adding a rushing score, making him the oldest player in Bears history to score a rushing touchdown.

“He was like, ‘I may not be a cowboy, but this is definitely not my first rodeo,'” Raymond said. “A lot of confidence in him; a lot of confidence in himself. He practises, preps every week, but particularly this week. We didn’t expect anything different from him.”

Chicago opened the scoring on Keenum’s first drive, converting into a touchdown for Luther Burden III, followed by a 29-yard field goal from Cairo Santos. The Eagles managed to cut the halftime deficit to 10-7 when Jalen Hurts rushed for a score, though the Bears’ defense ultimately stifled Philadelphia’s offense.

After Santos kicked another field goal early in the third quarter, the Bears rattled off 17 unanswered points. The Chicago defense held the Eagles to just 248 total yards and forced turnovers against both Hurts and replacement quarterback Andy Dalton.
